Mama Mia, Pizzeria

True embarrassing story:
I romped around Italy with a dear friend years ago. She spoke conversational Italian. Feeling left out, I opted instead to say, "Mama Mia, Pizza, Mario. MUAH!" and blow kisses everywhere we went. Quite satisfied and humored by myself at the time, I'm now reminded of my absurdities.

Silliness aside, I love pizza (understatement of the year).

Food & Wine posted a list of the Top 50 Pizza Places in the US. Below are some that tickled my fancy:

Pizzeria Lola (Mpls.) - F and I have tried this one before. Owned by Korean Chef, Ann Kim, the pizzas are innovative and delicious with a Korean flair. Kimchi on your pizza, anyone?

Del Popolo (San Fran) - A mobile pizzeria housed in a repurposed storage shed, so cool.

Punch Pizza (St. Paul) - Another favorite of ours. Their traditional Neapolitan pizza cooks in an 800 degree oven for 90 seconds. Delicious!

Ribalta (NYC) - I would travel here for the design alone - I love the modern, cozy feel. With a location in NYC and the other two in Italy, they seem to be as authentic as it gets. They also serve it up any way you want - brick oven, wood stove, or convection.

Now that I'm starving for pizza - any other can't miss pizzerias?
